A radio interview was conducted with Prof. Dr. Gamal Abdelaziz, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Shoubra, in the program "Benhebbak Ya Masr."

The discussion witnessed a debate about the review and accreditation mechanisms applied by the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation, where the importance of these mechanisms in improving the quality of education and ensuring its compliance with global academic standards was emphasized. During the discussion, Prof. Dr. Gamal Abdelaziz pointed out the breakthrough in engineering education recently, thanks to the updating of engineering faculties' regulations to align with those applied in foreign universities. These updates have contributed to improving the quality of curricula and equipping students with practical skills that are more aligned with labor market requirements.

The discussion also highlighted the new programs that have been created as interdisciplinary programs between traditional specializations, allowing students broader opportunities in modern specializations that meet the needs of the labor market locally and internationally. These programs contribute to enhancing graduates' competitiveness and providing them with multi-disciplinary skills, which have become essential in the present era.

The discussion moved to the issue of investment in education, where the Dean of the Faculty indicated that the faculty has become an attractive environment for international students from Gulf countries such as Kuwait and Iraq, in addition to the increasing demand from international students from African countries at present. This increasing demand reflects the quality of education provided and the extent of its alignment with global academic standards.

Finally, the pivotal role played by faculties and universities in serving society was emphasized through offering advanced educational programs, organizing initiatives that serve community issues, and enhancing cooperation with various sectors to provide practical solutions to societal challenges. These institutions remain among the key drivers of sustainable development and the promotion of scientific progress in society.

The President of Benha University, the Governor of Damietta, and the Dean of Shubra Faculty of Engineering participated in the launch of the Land and Urban Management Education Modernization Project in the Southern Mediterranean.
