Measurement and Evaluation Unit
Message from the Project Executive Director
Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Ebrahim Mohamed

Assessment and evaluation are among the most vital components of the educational process being implemented today. Their scope has expanded to cover all types of education—mainstream and special education alike—playing a crucial role in safeguarding the educational system against the risks associated with failing to apply reference frameworks in the assessment and evaluation processes.
In this context, the Faculty of Engineering at Shoubra, Benha University, submitted a project proposal on digital transformation in the field of assessment and evaluation to the Projects Management Unit at the Ministry of Higher Education. This initiative aimed to serve as the foundation for establishing the Assessment and Evaluation Unit at the faculty. The project was approved for funding in collaboration with the Projects Management Unit and the Faculty of Engineering, and the contract was officially signed on December 1, 2020.
To maximize the benefits of this project, the Project Management Board formed specialized task forces divided into four committees. Each committee focuses on specific technical aspects during the implementation phase. These committees are:
-
Committee 1: Publicity and Communication
-
Committee 2: Question Banks and Exam Automation
-
Committee 3: Electronic Grading
-
Committee 4: Surveys and Statistical Analysis
With the development of the scope of work and tasks for each committee and implementation team, the foundation for digital transformation in assessment and evaluation has been firmly established for generations to come at the Faculty of Engineering, Shoubra. Nevertheless, this does not preclude the periodic review and updating of the internal regulations, committee responsibilities, implementation mechanisms, and guidance manuals to incorporate new advancements and improve performance. This is essential to keep pace with technological progress and ensure that the faculty remains aligned with the latest developments in education, learning, assessment, and evaluation.
