July 21 – Launch of the Second Graduation Projects Marathon at Benha University

Prof. Dr. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University, announced the launch of the university’s Second Graduation Projects Marathon under the slogan “We Invest in Knowledge” on July 21, 2025. The event comes within the framework of the presidential initiative “Alliance and Development” and contributes to the “Be Prepared” initiative under the motto “One Million Qualified Innovators”, as part of Benha University’s commitment to implementing the National Strategy for Higher Education and Scientific Research 2030.

Dr. El-Gizawy explained that the marathon’s themes include:

  • Technical and Engineering Track: Engineering, Computer Science, and IT in areas such as Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning applications, IoT applications in industry or agriculture, robotics and smart systems, mobile app and web systems development, cybersecurity and blockchain, renewable energy projects (solar, wind).

  • Medical and Biological Track: Medicine, Physical Therapy, Veterinary Medicine, Biological Sciences in areas such as innovative medical devices (e.g., smart prosthetics), genetic data analysis, biotechnology applications, drug design using computer modeling.

  • Industrial and Production Track: Veterinary Medicine, Agriculture, Nanotechnology in areas such as sustainable food supply chain solutions, recycling food waste, converting organic waste to fertilizers or animal feed, animal disease detection, livestock productivity enhancement, automated production line improvements, eco-friendly materials development, smart agriculture, modern irrigation systems, waste management and recycling.

  • Economic and Administrative Track: Commerce, Business Administration, Economics in areas such as big data analytics for economic decision-making, smart accounting systems, investment project feasibility studies, digital banking applications.

  • Social and Development Track: Specific Education, Applied Arts, Arts in areas such as solutions to social issues (population growth, unemployment), e-learning platforms, social media impact studies, tourism and cultural heritage promotion.

  • Environmental and Sustainable Development Track: Environmental pollution monitoring systems, green energy projects, water resource management (desalination, conservation), AI and IoT applications in sustainability, technological solutions to improve quality of life, promote environmental justice, and combat poverty and inequality.

  • Artistic and Creative Track: Applied Arts, Specific Education, Architecture, Design in areas such as eco-friendly smart building design, educational game development, animation projects, and short films.

Prof. Dr. Gehan Abdel Hady, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, explained that the target participants are final-year students from Benha University faculties. Team requirements: 3–5 students per team, an officially approved graduation project, and an academic supervisor. Project requirements: alignment with one of the marathon’s themes, a prototype or simulation, practical applicability, innovation, and demonstrated social/environmental impact.

Prizes per theme:

  • 1st place: EGP 10,000

  • 2nd place: EGP 8,000

  • 3rd place: EGP 6,000
