Prof. Dr. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University, announced that Stanford University has released its list of the “Top 2% of World Scientists”, which includes more than 236,000 scientists from 168 countries, classified into 22 scientific fields and 174 sub-specialties based on the Scopus database.
The list features 24 researchers from Benha University, including 6 distinguished scholars from the Faculty of Engineering, Shoubra, across different scientific fields. The full list can be viewed at the following link:

Prof. Dr. El-Gizawy emphasized that the inclusion of Benha University’s scholars in this prestigious international ranking is a significant achievement, reflecting the quality and impact of their research outputs. He noted that the results are based on Elsevier’s Scopus database and were recently published in PLOS Biology.
He further explained that this recognition highlights the dedicated efforts of the university’s faculty members to advance scientific research and increase the number of publications in high-impact international journals, supported by the university’s continuous commitment to enhancing research quality.
Prof. Dr. Gehan Abdelhady also stressed the importance of correctly affiliating research outputs to Benha University (and not to individual faculties or departments) in Scopus profiles, to ensure accurate representation of the university’s scholarly impact.
On this occasion, the President of the University extended his warm congratulations to all the researchers who made it to the list, wishing them continued success and progress in their scientific careers.

Celebration of the Beginning of the Academic Year at Benha University in the Presence of the University President
President of Benha University Attends the Celebration of the New Academic Year
Prof. Dr. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University, attended the flag-raising ceremony marking the beginning of the new academic year 2025/2026 at the university’s playgrounds. The event was held in the presence of Prof. Dr. Gehan Abdelhady, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, alongside the deans and vice deans of faculties, as well as the university’s academic and administrative leaders.
In his speech, Prof. Dr. El-Gizawy congratulated students, faculty members, staff, and administrators, wishing them a year full of success and productivity. He emphasized:
“You all represent the beating heart of this great university, and through your efforts and cooperation, the journey of excellence and giving continues.”
He urged students to be committed, diligent in their studies, and actively engaged in cultural, sports, social, and artistic activities, as these experiences complement academic learning and play a key role in shaping their personalities.
The University President also stressed Benha University’s commitment to providing all forms of support and care to its students, offering a stimulating educational environment that fosters excellence and creativity. He pointed out the university’s continuous efforts to introduce new academic programs aligned with the needs of the labor market and the jobs of the future, in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030 and the strategy of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
He highlighted the importance of ensuring regular classes from the very first day of the academic year, directing deans and faculty members to hold orientation sessions for new students to familiarize them with the range of student activities at the university and how to participate, with the aim of preparing a generation capable of building a promising future in service of their community and country.
From her side, Prof. Dr. Gehan Abdelhady affirmed that the university is not just an academic institution but a comprehensive environment for developing students’ character, enhancing their capabilities, expanding their awareness, and empowering them with tools of knowledge and innovation. She added that this carnival is not merely a celebration but a clear message reflecting the university’s commitment to offering a well-rounded campus experience that integrates academic excellence with cultural, sports, and social activities, fostering belonging, cooperation, and teamwork.
Addressing the students, she said:
“You are the hope of this nation, the cornerstone of its future, and the most valuable asset this university possesses. We believe in your abilities, trust in your determination, and will always remain supportive of you, providing all that helps you achieve excellence and success.”
At the end of the celebration, the University President and his accompanying delegation toured various student activities, wishing everyone a year filled with achievements and success.
