Training Course on Occupational Hazards, Their Health Impacts, and Methods of Prevention, Control, and Management

Within the framework of the Faculty of Engineering at Shoubra’s commitment to creating a healthy and safe academic work environment free from hazards, and aiming to enhance the capacities of its staff—including faculty members, administrative personnel, and members of the Occupational Safety, Health, and Civil Protection Committees—in coordination with the General Directorate of Civil Protection,

a training course was held today, Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at the Khalafawi building of the faculty.

The course focused on understanding occupational hazards resulting from errors or negligence, which may cause physical or psychological harm, as well as methods of prevention, control, and management of these risks.

The training was delivered by Mr. Mahmoud Abdel Hamid Ghoneim, a trainer from the Civil Protection Institute in Cairo.

Meeting to Explore Cooperation Opportunities Between the Faculty of Engineering, Shoubra, and the Giza Branch of the Engineers Syndicate

On Tuesday, November 26, 2024, Prof. Dr. Gamal Abdel Aziz, Dean of the Faculty, received a delegation from the Giza Branch of the Engineers Syndicate.

The meeting was attended by Eng. Ibrahim Serag El-Din, Syndicate Secretary, Eng. Mostafa Mohamed Mostafa, Syndicate Council Member, and Dr. Eng. Abdel Ghani Bedeir, Faculty Member at the College and member of the Syndicate’s Training Committee.

Also present were Prof. Dr. Ali Abdel Aziz, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Dr. Abdel Kader Abdel Karim, Director of the Faculty’s Continuing Education Unit, and Prof. Dr. Raouf Tawfiq, Emeritus Professor in the Mechanical Engineering Department.

The meeting discussed ways to enhance cooperation between the Faculty of Engineering, Shoubra, and the Engineers Syndicate in several engineering fields of mutual interest, including training and employment to improve the efficiency of engineering graduates, as well as participating in workshops and events organized by both parties.

The National Council for Women in Qalyubia Governorate Welcomes Dr. Amr Hanafi

The National Council for Women in Qalyubia Governorate, chaired by Dr. Jehan Fouad, Chairperson of the Qalyubia branch, received a delegation representing the Presidential Initiative “Hayat Kareema” (Decent Life) to discuss cooperation mechanisms for implementing the initiative. The project is set to be executed in 36 villages and 148 hamlets within the Shibin El-Qanater district of Qalyubia Governorate.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Ibrahim Ragheb, Director of the Crisis and Disaster Management Department at Benha University and member of the National Council for Women in Qalyubia; Dr. Amr Hanafi, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Shoubra, and coordinator of the initiative at Benha University; Ms. Faten Kharboush, Secretary of Benha University for Community Service and Environmental Development and member of the National Council for Women in Qalyubia; Dr. Ramadan Orfa, General Director of Media at the General Information Authority in Qalyubia; as well as representatives of the initiative including Captain Fadi Mohamed Salem, Coordinator of the Hayat Kareema Foundation in Qalyubia, and Dr. Basem El-Bahrawi, Hend Galal, Amira Fathi, Hesham Hegag, and Ahmed Tarrad, alongside several public figures and civil society representatives.

The meeting discussed the general objectives of the Hayat Kareema Foundation and explored ways to cooperate with the National Council for Women, Benha University, and various civil society organizations and institutions.

Additionally, the attendees reviewed the foundation’s activities within the governorate, shared ideas proposed by the participants, and outlined the main work axes of the Hayat Kareema initiative.

The meeting emphasized the importance of the initial phase, which includes defining the general concept, assessing needs, providing guidance, and commencing infrastructure projects alongside preparing the social profile.
