In an effort to assist faculty members and their assistants in obtaining the necessary training courses, capacity-building courses for faculty members were held at the college premises in Alkhalfawi. These courses were organized in coordination with the University’s Faculty Capacity Development Center, under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Ali Abdel Aziz, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development.

The courses took place from March 13 to March 28.

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Ayman El-Shahaby, Dean of the Faculty, the Annual Training and Employment Day was held on Sunday, March 27, 2023, at the faculty building in Rod El-Farag. The event was attended by representatives from 35 leading companies and research institutions operating in various engineering fields, aiming to provide training and employment opportunities for students and graduates.

This significant engineering event reflects the faculty’s commitment to fostering communication and support for its outstanding students and graduates.

Scientific research is considered one of the three main pillars of a university’s core functions. Education, aimed at preparing and qualifying graduates to meet the needs of national development, and community service are the two pillars closely linked with scientific research. The university’s role is to contribute to addressing anticipated problems in light of the future development of society in various aspects of life, by providing consultancy and solving industrial problems through innovative solutions.

In response to a request from Crystal Asfour Company for the manufacturing of chandeliers and gifts, Benha University dispatched a delegation from the Faculty of Engineering, Shoubra—led by Prof. Dr. Ali Abdel Aziz, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, along with several faculty members—to visit the Crystal Asfour Factory in Shubra El-Kheima, Qalyubia Governorate, on Monday, November 21, 2022.

The visiting team was welcomed by Mr. Walid Asfour, Chairman of the Board, and several engineers from the factory. They received an introductory briefing about the factory operations. The purpose of the visit was to discuss the key technical challenges facing the factory. The Benha University team toured the factory alongside the factory engineers and listened to detailed explanations of various manufacturing stages for chandeliers and gifts.

The visit revealed four main areas where the factory requires technical support and rapid scientific solutions: solar energy and its applications, industrial engineering, applied arts, and finally chemical engineering.
