Message from the Executive Director of the Strategic Planning Unit

Strategic planning is intrinsically linked to the administrative and academic activities carried out by the faculty. It involves analyzing the gap between available resources and capabilities on one hand, and the opportunities present in the surrounding environment on the other. The aim is to bridge this gap and achieve strategic alignment.
To this end, the Strategic Planning Unit of the faculty has exerted tremendous effort to disseminate a culture of strategic planning among faculty members, teaching assistants, administrative staff, and students, recognizing them as the backbone in shaping the faculty’s strategic plan.
The strategic plan serves as a general guiding document and a roadmap for all administrative and academic units and departments. It outlines how to move from the current state to the desired future state by aligning the faculty’s resources with available opportunities. This is to be implemented over a five-year timeframe, with a clearly defined schedule and well-distributed responsibilities.
Believing in the importance of strategic planning—which provides the overarching framework for more detailed planning at various administrative levels—the Faculty of Engineering at Shoubra – Benha University has developed its Strategic Plan 2023–2030. This plan reflects the faculty’s vision, mission, overarching goals, and strategic objectives within a defined implementation framework.
Based on the faculty leadership’s vision and its commitment to meeting adopted academic standards, while enhancing the faculty’s standing among peer institutions and supporting its strategic orientation, the strategic goals and objectives were formulated. These were grounded in academic and ethical values and principles and reflect the faculty’s ambition for excellence in education, learning, scientific research, community service, and environmental development.
Finally, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the faculty leadership for their unwavering support of the Strategic Planning Unit. I also extend my thanks to all my colleagues in the planning unit, the working team, and the esteemed reviewers. I remain hopeful that we will continue working together to bring this strategic plan to life—so that the faculty may fulfill its full educational and strategic potential.
