Program Objectives

The Civil Engineering Program (Structures) , in collaboration with relevant authorities, has identified the following educational objectives:

  1. Equipping students with the fundamentals of engineering sciences and mathematics to solidify their understanding of the basics of structural engineering and benefit from contemporary technologies and modern applications.

  2. Providing a distinguished academic curriculum in structural engineering to ensure keeping up with continuous developments and addressing contemporary scientific issues in the field of specialization, while considering professional, ethical, and social responsibility aspects.

  3. Providing an educational environment that enables students to achieve their goals in a program that supports their abilities to understand and innovate through conducting experiments, analyses, simulations, and evaluations to draw conclusions.

  4. Developing effective communication skills, planning, entrepreneurship, leadership, and teamwork efficiently within multidisciplinary and multicultural teams.

  5. Equipping students with the ability to diagnose engineering problems and develop high-quality solutions based on technical specifications, applying best practices, quality standards, health regulations, and environmental considerations.

  6. Preparing graduates to advance their careers through research techniques, self-learning, and postgraduate studies to actively contribute to achieving sustainable economic development and compete locally and regionally.
