The New and Renewable Energy Authority Announces the Launch of the Art Competition "Sustainable Creativity"

In cooperation with the Supreme Council of Universities, the New and Renewable Energy Authority (NREA) is organizing an art competition titled "Sustainable Creativity" in the field of expressive wall murals to be painted on the external wall of the Authority’s headquarters.

Eligible Participants:

The competition is open to all students from various academic levels enrolled in Egyptian public or private universities, in the following thematic areas:

  • Renewable Energy

  • Sustainability

  • Energy Efficiency Improvement

  • Conservation of Biodiversity and Migratory Birds

Mural Location:

  • Main façade of the Authority's outer wall

  • The wall comprises 30 segments (bays) of rose-colored brick

  • Each segment measures 4.70 meters in width × 1.80 meters in height

Competition Awards:

  • 15,000 EGP for the best single mural in each theme

  • 45,000 EGP for the best series of murals in each theme

President of Benha University: Classes Suspended Tomorrow at All Faculties Due to Severe Weather Conditions

Dr. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University, has decided to suspend classes tomorrow, Wednesday, across all faculties of the university due to adverse weather conditions.

The university president stated that the decision was made based on forecasts issued by the Meteorological Authority, which indicated that the country is expected to experience severe weather on Wednesday. However, the regular University Council meeting will still be held as scheduled.

He also added that campus security will take all necessary measures to ensure the safety of the university premises during the suspension period.
May God protect our country, the entire Benha University community, and the great Egyptian people from all harm.

Providing Internship Opportunities and Twenty Jobs for Faculty Graduates at an International Emirati Company

The Department of Geomatics Engineering and the Alumni Follow-up Unit at the Faculty of Engineering in Shoubra received today, Sunday, April 27, 2025:

  • Dr. Mohamed Youssef Ali Ali El-Saad – Chief Operating Officer of Safeen Survey and Subsea,

  • Engineer Islam Sami Barakat – Project Manager at the company and a 2003 graduate of the Surveying Engineering Department.

The visit was held under the patronage of:

  • Prof. Dr. Gamal Abdel Aziz – Dean of the Faculty,

  • Prof. Dr. Ali Abdel Aziz – Vice Dean for Community Service,

  • Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Salah – Head of the Geomatics Engineering Department,

  • Dr. Karim Samir Roshwa – Director of the Alumni Unit and the Center for Engineering Studies and Consultations.

The purpose of the visit was to provide training and employment opportunities for graduates of the Geomatics Engineering Department at the Faculty of Engineering in Shoubra at Safeen Survey and Subsea, a company specializing in Hydrographic Survey, Geotechnical, ROV, and Subsea Operations, headquartered in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

A committee interviewed 37 graduates of the Geomatics Engineering Department to select a number of them for training and employment in the company’s projects.

During his meeting with the representatives of the Emirati company, the Dean of the Faculty emphasized the strong relationship between Egypt and the United Arab Emirates, as well as the longstanding reputation of the faculty, the distinction of its graduates, and the quality of its academic programs—particularly the Geomatics Engineering program. The meeting also addressed the possibility of updating certain course curricula to align with labor market demands in the Gulf region and Europe.
