In light of the adverse weather conditions on Thursday, April 2, 2026, Dr. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University, has decided to suspend in-person classes and postpone midterm exams for the day, in order to ensure equal opportunities for all students.

The University President also directed faculty deans to continue lectures through the online learning system according to the announced schedules.

This decision excludes medical staff, university security personnel, student housing staff, occupational health and safety departments, on-duty shifts, and employees whose presence is necessary to ensure the proper management and operation of the university and its faculties.

In line with the state’s directives to achieve Egypt Vision 2030,
Prof. Dr. Mohamed Saeed Abdelghaffar – Dean of the Faculty, has issued a decision to appoint:

• Prof. Dr. Ahmed Attia – Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, as Director of the Energy Excellence and Environmental Studies Unit.

This appointment comes within the framework of supporting and achieving the following objectives:

• Supporting the transition toward clean and renewable energy sources to achieve sustainable development

• Improving energy efficiency across various sectors (buildings – industry – infrastructure)

• Promoting reliance on solar and wind energy while reducing dependence on fossil fuels

• Expanding the use of green hydrogen in various fields

• Supporting green transformation projects, reducing carbon emissions, and improving environmental quality

• Preparing qualified human resources to keep pace with modern developments in energy and sustainability fields

• Encouraging applied scientific research and linking it to community and industry needs

• Providing technical consultations and studies to support decision-makers
