Overview of the Industrial Systems Engineering Program Department

The Industrial Engineering program is a newly emerging and highly sought-after specialization in various fields of operations, assembly, and industrial sectors at both the national and regional levels. It prepares engineers who specialize in engineering and managing various aspects of manufacturing, assembly, planning, quality, costs, and industrial project management. This specialization requires students with a distinguished academic background in various engineering, administrative, and information systems sciences.

The focus of this specialization includes the following areas:

  • Engineering and management of manufacturing, assembly, and production systems.

  • Engineering and management of inspection and quality systems.

  • Engineering and management of engineering projects.

  • Engineering and management of maintenance systems.

  • Engineering and management of cost systems and feasibility studies.

  • Studying the relationship between human factors and production processes.

  • Engineering and management of computer applications in various industrial fields.

  • Engineering and management of occupational safety and health systems.

  • Systems engineering.

Fields of Work for Graduates:

Graduates of this specialization can work in various industrial fields, particularly in investment companies that focus on quality, projects, maintenance, safety, and reliability. This includes industries such as petroleum and gas companies, cement production, engineering industries, chemical industries, and more. The department also equips its graduates with the following skills:

  • Use of global and local standards and how to apply them in various industrial fields.

  • Use of natural sciences, mathematics, operations research, system analysis, and design in practical solutions for industrial problems.

  • Participation in project evaluation through field visits to various industrial companies, particularly in the petroleum, gas, cement, engineering, and manufacturing industries.

  • Training students to develop applications and use ready-made software packages in the field of computer applications in industrial operations engineering and management.

  • Providing practical experience to students through the simulation and modeling of industrial engineering systems.

  • Teaching students’ teamwork methodology, strategic planning, performance evaluation, productivity analysis, and studying the reliability of production systems.

  • Helping students understand the professional and ethical standards related to practicing industrial engineering.

  • Developing students' skills for continuous learning.

In this context, the college has signed a cooperation agreement with Texas A&M International University (Laredo, Texas, USA)

This Cooperation facilitates the exchange of faculty members for teaching and research in the field of industrial engineering. It also allows students to attend some courses at the university. The college is working towards forming a cooperation agreement that would grant a Texas A&M certificate in Industrial Systems Engineering to distinguished students, in addition to the Industrial Engineering program certificate from the college. To encourage excellence, the program will offer scholarships to new and continuing students, ranging from full to partial tuition exemptions, based on registration numbers, success rates, and academic performance.

We have full confidence in improving the quality of our graduates in line with the needs of industrial development in Egypt and the Arab world in the coming years, through education and training in various areas of industrial systems engineering. This will be achieved through a flexible integration between the Department of Industrial Engineering and various advanced industrial companies.
