Vision, Mission, and Objectives

Geomatics Engineering Program Mission:

"The Geomatics Engineering program is committed to preparing graduates with comprehensive education in the fundamentals of Geomatics Engineering and its applications, along with the necessary skills to tackle future technical and social challenges. This will enable them to practice Geomatics Engineering with confidence at the professional level and achieve outstanding international research excellence. Graduates will be capable of competing in both local and regional job markets, and will possess the ability to innovate and engage in entrepreneurship, all while adhering to human and ethical values. The program also commits to engaging with civil society organizations and offering exceptional community services in the fields related to Geomatics Engineering."

Program Objectives:

The objectives of the Geomatics Engineering program are to:

  • Provide knowledge in mathematics, sciences, and engineering concepts to solve problems related to Geomatics Engineering.

  • Offer advanced educational topics and make use of modern scientific and practical techniques to prepare and equip students to enhance their skills and capabilities to meet the market standards.

  • Ensure that students are able to identify, analyze, and solve a broad range of logical and practical engineering problems using modern tools and techniques.

  • Ensure graduates develop a strong understanding of personal integrity, professional ethics, and the moral responsibility in the practice of surveying work.

  • Create a high-quality environment within the Geomatics Engineering Department through the implementation of clear plans for promotions, improvements, and the effective use of available skills and capacities, as well as developing them.

  • Employ appropriate engineering techniques, skills, and tools necessary for engineering practice and project management.

  • Work and communicate effectively within interdisciplinary teams in the Geomatics field, including (Geodetic Surveying, Photogrammetry, Geographic Information Systems, Remote Sensing).

  • Engage in self-directed and continuous learning, including monitoring environmental changes such as (global warming, sea-level rise, tectonic movements, desertification, etc.).

  • Professionally design and oversee projects within the specialized areas of Geomatics Engineering.
