Benha University "BU" participated, under the auspices of Prof. Gamal El Saeed - BU President, in the Heritage and Silk Road Contest held on the sidelines of the University Alliance of the Silk Road "UASR" meetings at Nazarbayev University, Kazakhstan throughout Zoom Application.
Prof. Nasser El Gizawy, BU Vice-president for Postgraduate Studies and Researches' Affairs said that BU is the only African university participated in this Contest with a video designed by Student/ Mustafa Ayman Mustafa, from the Department of Chinese Language, Faculty of Arts.
BU participates in the Executive Office Meeting of UASR
Prof. Nasser El Gizawy, Benha University "BU" Vice-president for Postgraduate Studies and Researches ' Affairs participated and represented BU, on behalf of the BU President, in the 6th Executive Office meeting of the University Alliance of the Silk Road "UASR".
The meeting was held during the final events of the Annual Forum of the UASR Presidents which hosted online by Xi'an Jiaotong University - China and Politecnico di Milano - Italy in the duration from November23 to 27, 2020.
El Saeed chairs the Board Meeting of the Quality Assurance Center
Within the framework of Benha University's endeavor to accredit its faculties from the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education (NAQAA); Prof. Gamal El Saeed, the University President chaired the Board Meeting of the Quality Assurance Center in the presence of Prof. Nasser El Gizawy, the University Vice-president for Post Graduate Studies and Researches ' Affairs.
During the meeting, the University President congratulated the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine for renewing its accreditation for the second time and urged the Board of Directors to continue providing technical support and organizing simulation visits to all the faculties to qualify them for the institutional and program accreditation depending on the nature of each faculty and the number of its programs.

The Management of Supporting Excellence "MSE", the Project Management Unit "PMU" at the Ministry of Higher Education has announced for the final version of the form to apply for the Competitive Excellence Project of Higher Education Institutions "CEPHEI", 4th edition through the website:http://heep.edu.eg/ aiming to create a competitive environment to distinguish between scientific and administrative departments, academic programs, as well as research and service activities inside the educational institution and between educational institutions inside and outside the university on the other hand.

PMU opens the applying for CSEM
The Project Management Unit "PMU" at the Ministry of Higher Education has announced for the final version of the form to apply for the Center of Support and Qualify Students for Entrepreneurship and labor Market "CSEM-1" through the website:http://heep.edu.eg/ aiming to meet the labor market requirements from the skills of higher education graduates, develop self-skills, and support scientific and creative thinking.

BU holds a Conference on "Law and Egypt's Water Security"
Prof. Nasser El Gizawy, Benha University "BU" Vice-president for Postgraduate Studies and Researches ' Affairs; Prof. Tamer Samir, BU Vice-president for Education and Students' Affairs; and Prof. Reda Abdel Halim, the Dean of the Faculty of Law opened the 14th Annual Scientific Conference of the Faculty under the title of "Law and Egypt's Water Security towards a Comprehensive Vision to protect our Water Resources".
In his speech, El Gizawy conveyed a message of thanks and greetings from Prof. Gamal El Saeed, BU President to the Faculty of Law on the occasion of its celebration of the Silver Jubilee and the 25th anniversary of its establishment. He said also that the Conference is in line with the National Strategy for Science, Technology and Innovation as well as Egypt's Vision 2030 for sustainable development, as the state places at the forefront of its priorities the water issue, rationalization and raising the efficiency of its use through several axes.
In the same context, Samir expressed his happiness for the presence between a constellation of jurists and judicial bodies, congratulating the Faculty of Law on the occasion of its celebration of the Silver Jubilee.
Samir added that the water is one of the most important issues that concern the public opinion in Egypt, pointing out that the State is keen to find solutions and alternatives to face the water shortage through the establishment of seawater desalination plants and the development of irrigation methods as well as other matters related to water resources in Egypt.
STDF Opens the applying for Financed Grants
The Sector of Postgraduate Studies and Researches ' Affairs, Benha University announced that the Science and Technology Development Fund "STDF" has opened the applying for financed grants in several fields:
1- Post Graduate Support Grant for post graduate studies researchers - Master's degree (MSc) and Doctorate degree (PhD) students. The total budget should not exceed: - 250,000 L.E for Master students
- 350,000 L.E. for Doctorate students.
2- Second COVID-19 Pandemic Emergency Call, this Call is a continuation of the researches launched by STDF last March by the onset of the pandemic. The budget will be:
- 3,000,000 LE for Regular project
- 10,000,000 LE for Multi Center Project
- 30,000,000 LE for Mega project.

BU looks for Cooperation with AUC
In the frame of Benha University's "BU" policy to open up to local, regional and international universities for maximizing the partnership opportunities between them, BU International Relations Office has organized a webinar with the American University in Cairo "AUC" under the auspices of Prof. Gamal El Saeed - BU President.
The participants in the webinar from BU are: Prof. Nasser El Gizawy, BU Vice-president for Postgraduate Studies and Researches ' Affairs; Prof. Hala Zayed, the Dean of the Faculty of Computers and Artificial Intelligence; Prof. Mahran El Naggar, the Director of the International Relations Office; and Prof. Abdel Samiee Halawa, from the Faculty of Medicine.
The participants in the webinar from AUC are: Prof Ehab Abdel Rahaman, the AUC Vice-president; Prof. Alaa Idrees, the Deputy Assistant for Scientific Research; Prof. George Marqes, the Dean of Students' Affairs; and Prof. Ahmed Abdel Latif.
El Gizawy said that the webinar discussed the ways of cooperation between BU and AUC at the level of academic programs, scientific research, innovation and creativity, in order to maximize the use of the financial and human potentials of the both universities.
In the same context, AUC invited some professors with students from BU to visit it to identify the opportunities available in it, the nature of study and the various fields of scientific research.
BU President congratulates Azar for selecting him among the World's Top 2% of Scientists
Prof. Gamal El Saeed, Benha University President congratulated Prof. Ahmed Taher Saleh Azar, the Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Computers and Artificial Intelligence for selecting him among the World's Top 2% of Scientists and ranked 623 from 215,114 scientists in the field of artificial intelligence.

It is worth mentioning that Prof. Ahmed Taher Saleh Azar has got recently "Shoman Arab Researchers Award 2020" on the subject of machine learning (computers) and major analytical data.
14 Scientists from BU in World's Top 2% Scientists' List by Stanford University
The Stanford University has released a list that represents the top 2% of the world scientists. The exhaustive list has nearly 160.000 scientists from 149 countries based on Scopus in 176 disciplines as the following link:https://esee.ly/vxpU2T
Prof. Gamal El Saeed, Benha University "BU" President said that 14 scientists from BU have got 7 ranks in various scientific fields according to the list of Stanford University for World's Top 2% Scientists.
In this regard, El Saeed congratulated the University's scientists named in the World's Top 2% Scientists' List wishing more success for them during their careers.
Prof. Nasser El Gizawy, BU Vice-president for Postgraduate Studies and Researches ' Affairs said that the appearance of some BU scientists in this international report is a significant achievement for the researchers of BU, as it indicates the quality of their research outputs, referring that the report depends on the Scopus database of Elsevier, which published recently in the PLOS Biology and classified into 22 scientific disciplines and 176 sub- disciplines.
